Rainy days

Is it me or do rainy days make people become very reflective.

I forced myself out of bed today to go exercise. Body pump and body combat. Getting the motivation to exercise in the morning is much easier when you wake up with C&C's Music Factory's....EVERYBODY DANCE NOW! song in your head. ahaha. good stuff.

Best of all, I didn't bring my umbrella. And for those of you who aren't lucky enough to live in Singapore....it rains MOST OF THE DAMN TIME. think....Seattle ...wait I have an even better visual...

If the Noah's ark event really did occur, then its that sort of rain. Non-stop heavy thick droplets of rain. Rain that looks like a thick curtain and has no mercy. Rain that jumps into your shoes. Rain that hits you from all directions.

Especially if you are like me, I must have one of the world's smallest umbrellas, a pretty purple one that fits really nicely in all my bags. Yup, regarding its effectiveness rating... from 1 to 10...i'll give it a 2.

NO COVERAGE

I was walking home, contemplating my life in Singapore. What am I doing here. How I'm quite lonely and live in solitude...And in my deep thoughts....someone hoots at me! I'm walking by Mount Elizabeth hospital and this 'bung' (i haven't this word in ages!) worker says "Hello" and then like hoots and cat calls as I walk pass him.

Honestly, what in God's name do men think when they do that. I'm going to do you all a favour, here is a huge tip....

WE WOMEN DON'T LIKE IT.

Lets try to get into a man's psyche. Do you think they logic things this? ...

1. Cat calling and hooting gets me noticed
2. Pretty girl walks by (Pretty is subjective btw, I was wearing nothing spectacular today and look huge and roly)
3. "Hoot" "Meow"
4. Girl will turn around, give me glamourous smile, and say " Hello handsome come over here and give me a kiss"

In reality its more lke....

4. Girl turns around (if she bothers) and gives an extreme look of disgust

BUT the man then internalises this as "She looked at me! Woohoo!"

You know how we learn about positive and negative reinforcements. Or like how pets learn what is appropriate behaviour.

If your pet does something bad you give it negative feedback. So that it will learn not to do it again?

How many times do we women give the catcallers dirty looks or more so...not RESPOND, and despite all of this, why do they still persist.

Its really amazing.
