Expectations

A wise friend once told me, don't have any expectations, you'll only be dissappointed.

At that time I felt like that was such a truly pessimistic way of seeing things.

And I think my weakness is that I do have lots of expectations.

Recently I've been figuring out that I have to heed the advice of my dear friend.

Everything falls below par, and I'm left bruised and battered.

For example....

I expected to get 75marks...I got 67
I expected to lose 4kgs this month...I lost 1
I expected to cover all my UOL Financial reporting syllabus in March...I didn't even open the book.
I expected that I meant as much to my friends as they mean to mean...I was wrong.
I expected people to be nice...they aren't.

Best thing is to do, is to make no expectations so you can avoid dissapointment. Hmm, that sound so depressing! I will try to adopt this philosophy from now on.

Tomorrow I am going back home!! We are planning a family trip to Chiang Mai, needless to say, I have no expectations on the trip. so it should be a good one.

True to a degree. I think you should always expect/dream for something, and when something better happens you will be pleasently surprise.

If you have no expectation you have no drive, no motivator. Then you might as well not try. Make the fact that you missed expecation as a driver to make you hit expectation next time.
